Differences in THC levels in plants constitute the legal line between hemp and cannabis. Hemp contains 0.3% or less of the psychoactive THC and high CBD, while hemp contains 0.3% or more of THC and is extractable. CBD and contains a variety of other compounds than hemp. In the United States, hemp is legal across the country. But cannabis is still illegal in some states. Whether or not CBD extracts are legal in that state depends on whether it is hemp-derived or hemp-derived CBD.
